Best suited for: Aqua aerobics (or water aerobics) is best suited for individuals looking for a low-impact, full-body workout that is easy on the joints. It’s particularly beneficial for those with arthritis, joint injuries, or mobility problems, as the water provides support and reduces stress on the body.

Our Adult Aqua Aerobics lesson happens in our Big Pool, which is around chest level (standing depth) throughout, and is a perfectly sized for learning the skills necessary to build a strong swimming foundation.
Our Big Pool can comfortably hold up to 10 aqua aerobics exercisers.
Session Focus
Our Aqua Aerobics sessions are structured through blended performance outcomes, and tailored for the swimmers in the session:
Low intensity workout:
A more relaxing movement-based session focussed on a range of movement exercises and being active in the water.
High intensity workout:
A higher intensity interval training (HIIT) session designed for increased aerobic exercises, and to get the blood flowing.

Benefits
Please Note: Swimming Lessons do NOT constitute drown-proofing or survival swimming, and cannot guarantee swimmers will be water-safe.
Beginner swimmers (both children and adults) should always be supervised when in and around water.

At Stars Swimming School, we understand that each swimmer learns at their own unique pace.
We may at times strongly encourage learners, but we’ll never force swimmers to undertake any activity or exercise they are not comfortable with,
but at the same time, swimming requires that we overcome our fears and explore our capabilities.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, you can participate in aqua aerobics even if you can’t swim. Many aqua aerobics classes are taught in shallow water, allowing you to stand and work out without needing to swim.
You will however need to overcome any fear of water you may have, and be comfortable and relaxed in the water.
Water is like an instantly-adjustable weight machine! Every direction you move a limb becomes an opportunity to strengthen and build balanced muscle groups. As a beginner, you’ll simply push your limbs through the water lightly and work slowly. In addition, only work out for as long as comfortable. Keep paying attention to how you feel and pace yourself.
In a week or two you’ll feel stronger, so you’ll be able to push your limbs faster through the water, which is like lifting a heavier weight. The more you build strength and aerobic endurance, the faster and bigger you can move. So the water keeps meeting and challenging you as your fitness improves, which is why so many participants have been in our program for years!
Yes, aqua aerobics can help reduce the appearance of cellulite. The water’s resistance and the massage effect of the water on your skin can help improve circulation, reduce water retention, and stimulate the lymphatic system, all of which can contribute to a smoother appearance.
Aqua aerobics is generally low impact and not painful, thanks to the buoyancy of the water. The water supports your weight, reducing stress on joints and muscles, making it a good option for people with joint pain or muscle issues.
Yes of course. We encourage learning new skills together with people with whom you are familiar.
We are happy to accommodate group bookings as long as our we have lesson availability (space) allows.
Yes, aqua aerobics can help you lose weight. Water aerobics provides a good cardiovascular workout and burns calories, which is essential for weight loss. The water’s resistance also adds to the workout, making it effective for strengthening muscles and overall fitness.
Aqua aerobics classes often last 45 minutes due to a combination of factors, including maximising the benefits of the workout, transitioning between classes, and physiological considerations.
We do not offer trial lessons as our Instructors invest time into each individual swimmer’s lesson plan and outcomes, but we do have a satisfaction guarantee, and you are welcome to pay after your first lesson.
Our qualified and highly experienced instructors each work on specific days of the week.
This means that you may experience more than one instructor if you’re coming for swimming lesson on different days of the week.
Our lesson plans are structured so that a similar weekly lesson outcome is achieved from all instructors, but may be delivered slightly differently depending on the instructor for the day.
We highly recommend trying multiple instructors, each with their unique strengths and teaching styles.
Our Aqua Aerobics classes our structured through a monthly fee.
